iPhone: Malicious Website Blocked. Now what?
« on: January 26, 2021, 01:09:27 AM »
My security app noticed me, multiple times, that it blocked a malicious site I was on a while ago. I know what to do if this was my laptop, but this is the first it happened on my iPhone. I don’t know how to check if the malware is on my phone or maybe it was a delayed response.

Hello Adolfo,
Most likely you are in a safe zone.
I did not quite get you, but if IMS blocked you from visiting the website and you could not open it -- all is good.
If you have accessed the website before the incident, here is something to oconsider.
You could have opened the website while web protection was off, or that site has been added in an update to our malicious sites definitions and that is how you could have got the notification.
The website could end up in our database for phishing, illegal tracking, and for distributing malicious exploits.
The majority of websites we block are of a phishing nature, exploit sites are somewhat rare because of the nature of the iOS platform.
If you can post MD5 hash string of the website URL (without https://, like maliciouswebsite.com), I will be able to tell you, why that site is in our definitions.
We are planning on bringing the lookup feature in the application.
You can use https://www.md5online.org/ to compute the MD5 hash.
