I dont think Wifi inspector is accurate.

It it is listing 6 mac addresses connected that are NOT listed on my router.

IT is also listing my 2 hopper 3 "twice" now while both hopper 3 have 1 Joey attached to that is getting its "internet" from the hopper 3 them selves, those joeys are feed interent via wired MoCA from the those hoppers

And this is with a  "allow" Mac address setup so i have no clue where those 6 other mac adress are from They dont match the actual mac address on  the 2 joeys connected to 2 hopper 3

All these mac adress are list as IP6 none of which are connected to my router.

Also can not "remove" disconnected device

Avast has always done this and still does:
Status
"This computer is protected"
Menu, Settings, General, Update
"Virus definitions are not up to date"
Makes you think it is up to date, but is not!

Other problems:
Sometimes when you try to update, it acts like it is doing it and then does not.  It won't update until you wait a day or three and try again.
It does not always give an update notification.
Behavior Shield can kill vital functions on your computer.  Leave it off.
Sandbox can trash your computer!  Never us it.  Not worth the risk.
Have not taken the time to TS, but Thunderbird email links do not work after the last few Avast program updates.  Maybe that is a feature.
A lot of problems with PayPal even with it listed in the exceptions.  I tried Firefox and Chrome browsers.
It is a serious PITA dealing with third parties, multiple sites and logins.  There should be only 1 place and 1 login for all of Avast.

I have not encountered any of this on my PC.
It works great and you feel protected with Avast Free.
Thank you and good day!

Issues with this new version's shields slowing my PC to a crawl:

Ever since this latest update, keeping the shields active slows my PC to a crawl and freezes browsers like Microsoft Edge and locks up Windows Explorer. Web pages have trouble even loading. As I'm typing this post, the smoothest way I can do it is disable all shields. This has only been happening since this latest update to the program.

My system Specs are as follows and it is an older AMD system:

AM3+ AMD FX 4100 Quad Core Processor.
AMD ATI 970 Northbridge chipset
16GB DDR 3 Memory
Dual Nvidia GTX 550 Ti video adapters.

I'm not only experiencing this issue on my main desktop, but my Intel based laptop as well that has a Core i7

Both running Windows 8.1 for the purpose of Media Center.

After I disable the shields, everything runs as normal.

Can someone please fix this bug?

Thank you.

  • Avast Free Antivirus needs improvement!
Will Avast Free Antivirus ever get back its comprehensive user interface?
« Reply #36 on: February 09, 2021, 03:32:52 AM »
Hello, I've been using Avast Free Antivirus since the year 2010. My question is; will Avast Free Antivirus ever get back its comprehensive and light color theme user interface that it used to have back in the 2010-2016 releases? Avast used to have the most comprehensive user interface that displays the statistics of real-time protection. Avast used to display the number of scanned files, folders, amount of data tested in bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, and terabytes when running an on-demand scan. Avast's Quick Scan feature was lightning fast and scans the objects that are loaded during operating system startup, physical memory (RAM), and boot sectors of the computer. Avast used to display the severity of each threat in the quarantine.

Nope.
Not likely. "ever" is a very long time and things change over time.
