Avast web browser opens on startup Win 7 after update
« on: December 14, 2020, 09:40:21 AM »
Hello
I'm having problems with my Avast browser after the recent update, it automatically opens on startup even though it is not selected to. All the forum searches either directs me to disable it on a later version of Windows (8/10) or to uninstall the browser which I do not want to do. Also when i do select my browser to open at startup, two windows of the browser opens.
I'm a Windows 7 user.

Thank you.

Hi Abshirely
We are already working on this issue. It was already reported here:https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=235407.0

In order to solve this issue, you have to:
1) open the bank mode using ctrl + b or right-clicking the Avast icon on taskbar and select "Run bank mode"
2) in bank mode go to secure://settings/
3) Disable lunch on startup in this browser.

I hope this does solve your problem, but please, tell us in case it does not, so we can take a deeper look into it.
