splash screen error

I try to open the virus scan and get a splash screen error for ashavast.exe. I have tried all of the suggestions on the forum but it still appears. Can some one help me. I also seem to be getting similar error windows with other programs.

What is the error text or post a screenshot or the error message ?

If you try to run C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashSimpl.exe, what do you get?
And, what about C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashSimp2.exe ?
