Avast Pro with DOS program

I have a customer just bought 25 licenses for AVAST Professional. They have a DOS application I think was written in Clipper which runs very slow after installed AVAST even screen display and keyboard input. I have tried one workstation to downgrade it to AVAST Home but still the same.

Any idea what may cause that? Those workstations without AVAST run the same application are fine without any problems.

Just a slowdonw or the application crashes or fails?

Did you try adding it to the Standard Shield Exclusion list? Left click the 'a' blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize. Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button.

Can you post the contents of this Windows Registry key in that system?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers\\VDD

Also, can you check the file C:\Windows\System32\Config.nt and post the last lines (not the comments).

Finally fixed by REM out the last DOS line (the avast's program)

Also excluded that program from Standard Shield -> Customize -> Advanced.

Do you mean the config.nt file?
You're just avoiding the scanning of 16bits applications at all. This is not the solution.
