Avast Free - Software Update Module
« on: January 09, 2021, 03:10:15 PM »
I just started using the Avast Free Virus software and I noticed that when I used the scan feature, it came back and stated that my Firefox Browser version was 62.0 and that the current version is 72.0. This doesn't seem correct as when I open up my Firefox Browser and look at the version number it reads version 84.02 64 bit.

Therefore, I'm confused as to why the Avast program is generating incorrect versions. If anyone else has seen this behavior, would greatly appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

You could try and reset the Software Updater database.
Unfortunately I have discovered Avast have moved this setting into the infamous "geek:area" on the Settings UI.
So need to type geek:area into Search to get at it.

You also need to scroll down quite a way to get to that setting.
