Newbie Question Regarding Network Attached Storage (NAS)
« on: January 20, 2021, 05:57:52 PM »
My home network consists of macs, PCs, router, and a single NAS for storage.  The NAS was recently hit with ransomware, so I want a solution that can protect it.  The ransomware is only on my NAS, and no ransom note pops up when I access it with my macs, so have no way to fix it.  All files have a .encrypt extension.  Each folder has a README file with extension *.TXTT, which I can't read.  I have the NAS off the network, and plan to reformat the drives.  My question is, can AVAST Premium provide ransomware protection to the NAS?  Thanks for being patient with this simple question.

Hi,

Ransomeware Shield is designed to protect personal folders. System folders, network folders, and removable devices are not currently supported.
