DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error

I can't open ANY websites in Avast browser but just get DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error repeatedly. Very frustrating.
I've tried changing the network adapter settings to Google DNS Servers @ 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to no effect.
I've also flushed the DNS cache and restarted DNS Client Services.

None of these fixed  the issue and the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error remain. Anybody got a solution for this problem?

I'm using the same version without any problems.

Maybe it's time for a clean install of the Secure Browser
Download the installer from here, https://www.avast.com/en-us/secure-browser
Download the Secure Browser Removal tool from here, https://download.avastbrowser.com/avast_secure_browser_uninstall.exe
Save your Bookmarks via the Book Marks Manager if you have custom bookmarks so you can import them when you re-install.
Uninstall Secure Browser via Programs and Features - Reboot
Run the removal tool, reboot, run the installer import your favorites if you saved them.

Report back if that's solved the problem or not.
Avast has offered a separate tool to totally remove the Secure Browser if the above instructions don't work.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I tried  a full uninstall using the official link you gave then reinstalled -  same problem.

I dis spot an option to set DNS servers to cusom settings somewhere in SETTINGS but I can't find it now. Anyway it wouldn't accept my Google DNS server URL of "https://dns.google/dns-query" saying it was invalid,.  So no joy with that one.
