Avast Free Antivirus - popups and scans

Hi all
Can someone point me in the Settings to stop two annoying things which seem to be occurring more frequently than they used to.
1. a lot of popups from Avast - being unsecure, issues to solve, etc. - "why don't you buy the Paid version".
2. there seems to be a hidden "Scheduled Scan" setting somewhere that I have not set.

I am happy with the free version I don't want to buy anything and I don't want to keep on seeing the pop ups, how can I stop them?

I can not see where to turn of scheduled scans.

Anyone help?
FYI - I am am not a techie, just a user at home

Hi,

1. It is only possible to disabled ads in Avast Premium Security. https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Privacy-settings/
2. Look at the scan history, it should give you an idea or see if you have any custom scan. Please see this guide: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Antivirus-PC-virus-scan/#idt_040

1. Nothing was checked on this screen, all blank.
2. I found two custom scans, these are now deleted. Many thanks
