internet explorer
« on: January 29, 2004, 05:07:02 AM »
i installed avast!4 recently and didn't like it (don't remember why) so i uninstalled it using the Add/Remove Programs function.  now, my internet explorer cannot connect to any site, despite the computer being connected to the net with aol dsl (the aol browser works, just not IE). IE keeps giving a "page cannot be displayed" message.

i'm using windows XP.  i've tried running avclear, system restore, reinstalling xp service pack1, all to no avail. any ideas?

I don't see how Avast figures into this but have you checked the IE Tools, Internet Options, Connections settings?  Avast does not change your IE settings.

Do things like Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services display correctly?
