Avast Online Security Detects Amazon as a phishing site
« on: February 25, 2021, 04:05:03 AM »
I've been using The security extension for as long as 1-3 years, and I've never had any issues with it, in fact it had managed to save me many times from some suspicious sites, so I was really happy with this tool, except it got one problem, once a website gets the negative rating by avast, you cannot proceed to the website anymore, it will just tell you to leave the site, no matter what, unless you disable the extension, but even so despite disabling it, you are still going to get an annoying pop up telling you that this website is not safe which is very annoyingly distracting.

I wish we had more control over the extension, instead of it deciding for us, if this doesn't gets fixed asap, I am gonna consider removing it from my browsers & look for an alternative

The amazon website in question is Amazon.sa (the official amazon store for saudi arabia, previously known as souq) other amazon stores works fine, US, UK, JP etc
I've bought From amazon SA for me & my friend many times internationally without issues, so i don't see how is it been detected as phishing
Tested on both Firefox & Chrome, and still same results, can't proceed, Reinstalled & still same results

ironically enough, this problem only started just one hour ago from this post, it was working fine just 2 hours ago, it's leading me to question this might have been a bug, which I do hope is the case
Hope the team can do something about it, as the extension lately is starting to become a hassle.

Update: Emails was sent to me that the problem was resolved, But isn't, i'm still unable to access the site while the extension is enabled, looks like i am going to uninstall it for good, i do not know how much time i will waste with the support center, & posting on the forum did nothing

Avast safe price have also been detecting the website as phishing site, who knows what other good safe websites these tools will detect as a phishing sites when it's not
I've noticed a big fall down on Avast quality overall, worse customer service, Extensions getting worse & my Avast Anti-virus becoming glitchy & full of bugs, My license have just ran out yesterday & i am not thinking to renew anytime soon after seeing all of the disappointment I've encountered with the customer service & the bad experiences lately with Avast products, even if i am been offered a discount, i will stick with the free versions

Re: Avast Online Security Detects Amazon.in having a malware

For past 2-3 days whenever I visit amazon.in directly in chrome browser or when I click link in the mails received from amazon.in regarding my orders, avast security stops the access to amazon.in website with following message:

We have safely aborted connection on d1elgm1ww0d6wo.cloudfront.net because it was infected with URL:Mal

or

This site can’t be reached

The connection was reset.

Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics

ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

Please help, as it's has become very problematic as I'm unable to do anything on amazon.in ecommerce store.
