Problems w/ Archive scanning???

It's all new to me.  My scanner picked up couple of infected .zip files on 1/18/04, which I emailed to Avast.

I have unistalled and reinstalled just in case it was a bad download. It appear to be a bad download. After reinstall everything is back to normal. thanks for the help.

Or is it just yet another case of uninstall & reinstall, like i isad this behaviour only appeared with version 343

I'm still not clear on what the problem was to begin with but I restored an infected .zip file and Avast scanner found it without unzipping the file.

Culpeper the prob isnt with zip files, it only seems to be rar files, idid test it with zip files & it worked as usual, with rar though U can open an infected file whereas before Avast would warn U even if U just highlighted it

It was working with me before the 343 update as it saved & alerted me about a file called pscan (spyware/trojan) in a rar file a couple of daye before i updated to 343

But like i say it only seem to be rar files, not zip files

Oh okay, I have some some uninfected rar files and I highlighted one and Avast scanned the files inside it.  Is this what it is supposed to do?
