Well the"show detailed info on performed action" if off by default and is really only used for short periods when trying to troubleshoot or test/check what avast is actually scanning. Once you have done what you wanted to do you uncheck the option so it isn't displayed at all much less transparent.
So if you have been tweaking the avast settings without appreciating what they do you can reset it back to the default.
