avast home

Now when I go to outlookexpress to get my mail my popserver is now listed as 127.0.0.1 instead of my regular pop address does avast have any thing to do with that it has been that way every sence I got avast set up to scan outlookexpress.

If you were using Windows 98 or Millenium, this is normal.
avast should change the email settings to scan it.
127.0.0.1 is the same as localhost, your computer, the emails are redirected from the Internet to avast to be scanned and then delivered to Outlook Express  8)

avast most certainly has something to do with this if your OS is win9x or winME and you have run the Mail Protection Wizard so that avast can scan your email before it arrives in your inbox it uses a localhost proxy and that is what the 127.0.0.1 is.

I suggest a browse of the avast help file.
