Yeah, I'm talking about that "Internet Mail" provider you have circled.  I don't have a specific "Outlook Express" provider.  Just the "MS Outlook/Exchange" provider and the "Internet Mail" provider.

Well thats odd, I wonder why? Maybe the shields get created during the install, depending on the mail program used.

Just for the heck of it, go into Add-Remove programs, tick Avast and than "change", and see if maybe those two are listed but not ticked.

If that's the case, try ticking them and see if that magically restores them.  What the heck, worse possible reaction is that your computer explodes or something.  ;D

Actually, under those settings I see "The Bat" but no Outlook Express plug in.

I don't have one that specifically says "Outlook Express" either. See my screen shot. The one titled "Internet mail" is for my outlook express, because I have the other one terminated. My mail gets scanned fine because I have "show detailed info on performed action" checked in the settings.

Thats the way it looks on my wifes PC running XP home. She uses Outlook though and not outlook express, so she uses the Outlook/Exchange plug in.

I just know that during the install of Avast, it already had my mail info in the drop down box, so it was super easy to set up.

Same here though that was long time ago.  I just thought maybe a new provider shield specific to "Outlook Express" cropped up without me knowing about it.

There's no such thing as "Outlook Express" provider.
