« on: January 31, 2004, 12:02:01 AM »
Ok avast has found these viruses and was unable to repair them.

The infected files were:

C:/WINDOWS/system32/Activescan/imscan.dll..(infected with Win32 Kuang2)

C:/WINDOWS/system32/Activescan/pav.sig
(infected with Matyas)
C:/WINDOWS/system32/pav.sig
(infected with Matyas)

they are now in the vault... is it safe to delete them and is there anymore steps I need to take to get rid of these 2 viruses... any help much appreciated

Hi Mole,

that's harmless ..
those are sort of false alarms:you have/had Panda-AntiVirus on your PC & Panda don't encrypt their files, so other AV find pieces of code in it..

either remove Panda-AV completely, or put the said files in the exclusion list of Avast_AV

avast home edition found this viruses in WinProxy4.0 (ositis winproxy) in files pav.sig and pavdll.dll in folder \panda

i don't even knew that WinProxy uses panda, i do not use AV protection in WinProxy.

how can I understend that my winproxy files are really attacked by virus if avast gives alert anyway?

avast deleted the files already :)
ok, and what if my installation files are infected? I got them from... I don't remember were I found them :)

it seems like I can not check them with avast! ?

ok. I can send the files on my own e-mail and check them there. It's no problem.
