Problem with latest 0658.0 update
« on: December 14, 2006, 10:56:29 AM »
Since updating to the latest VDB (0658.0) yesterday, my V4.7 software has detected enimen-e viruses in all my own .exe programs which I know are completely clean. That update is also causing denied access errors in those same programs (they are compiled from Q-basic). The only way I have found to overcome this is to disable the scanning completely. I have also managed to do a backup to the previous Vdb which does not cause this problem and have now disabled auto updates.

Anyone have any info or suggestions about this??

As usual, please provide us with the samples, zip them and send to virus@avast.com with the subject 'false alarm'.

If they are indeed a false positives, add it/them to the exclusions lists (Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced and Program Settings, Exclusions) and periodically check it (scan it in the chest), there should still be a copy in the chest even though you restored it to the original location. When it is no longer detected then you can also remove it from the Standard Shield and Program Settings, exclusions.
