System tray popup freezes on screen

An annoying and pointless little green avast message saying "you are protected" keeps popping from my system tray and it gets locked there getting in my way until I reboot. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

Try to repair avast:
Menu>Settings>Troubleshoot>Repair, and follow on-screen prompts.
Let me know if it fixes it.

I did that and not it's worse than ever. I just had the popup right in the middle the screen so had to reboot. It is supposed to be on silent mode so I don't get this kind of rubbish.
