Hi

I and many others who have Freespire Linux can not install the lastest version of Avast for Linux.

Thanks

Why not?
Which are the problems or the errors?  ;)

Ok here is the info I got using KDE Package Manager and the same errors when I do sudo dpkg -i Avast.deb and the same when I login as root.

Code: [Select]
<raveler 2.0 (partition 1)/Freespire/avast4Linux.deb' ;echo RESULT=$?
Selecting previously deselected package avast4workstation.

This is the only way to get it to work. see link
Code: [Select]
http://forum.freespire.org/showpost.php?p=19843&postcount=30
The only thing is that it will only work in root on a command line and you have to put the key in each time to run it. if i log on with my accound and click on the menu it wil not work nor will it work under Root account in the menu.

I have not got any answer to the problems I am having with Freespire and Avast. I want to be able to use a DEB file but it will not to many errors. The fact that I got it t o work the other way and have problems with that too.

I have to do this to get it to work:

Under my profile I drop to terminal and run this command:
ron@PCLap:~$ cd /
ron@PCLap:/$ sudo avast4workstation-1.0.6/bin/avastgui

Then it will work but not in the menu. Nothing happens when i click on it.
