start up
« on: December 12, 2006, 11:46:44 PM »
On first installation avast ran a full scan (blue screen) at startup. I would like to know how you can activate this setting at startup or is it something avast runs only @ the initial installation.I am running v4.7/XP Home edition
Thx in advance

 :)  Hi Lenjam :

You should NOT be running a "boottime" scan everytime you start your computer, because
Avast has 7 "Providers/Shields" that do  a very good job of providing protection. However,
that does NOT mean you should NOT have several antiSPYWARE/antiTROJAN program(s)
and a good software firewall on your computer.

You can't do that... I mean, run a boot scan is always run as system... before booting and login on any user.
I think you can even schedule a boot time scanning even at a non-admin account... I'm not sure...

Tech, I mean if you aren't login as administrator, you just can't run a boot scan. Try to do it under user account and you'll see it (I did - so I know it).
With all respect, sergofun ;).

Tested right now... Error 5 (access denied).
You can't schedule as a non-admin user.  8)
Thanks sergofun.
