Hi, as of last night, I started receiving intermittent notices of "Threat Secured" from Avast saying "We've safely aborted connection on floating.li because it was infected with URL:Scam"

This happens when I have either Google Chrome or Brave browser open, even with empty tabs.

I had no issues earlier yesterday so I am not sure what changed. When I ran the smart scan, it did not detect any issues.

Has anyone else had this happen? Please advise.

Any browser extensions that want to connect to that URL ?

Tried clearing your browser surf history?

Tried running a scan with Malwarebytes Adwcleaner?

Thanks for these suggestions. I believe the culprit was an old extension I had installed on both browsers called "Floating Player" that was supposed to give picture-in-picture functionality, but was ultimately made obsolete now that the browsers have that function natively.

Now that I have uninstalled the extension, I have also stopped receiving the threat notifications from Avast. Thanks again as I wouldn't have thought to check the extensions myself.
