« on: December 21, 2006, 03:41:38 AM »
The latest Avast update has done it again.  Mailwasher is pegged as infected and won't allow it to run.

I'm gunna have to reboot to even get it to run to note the 'virus' name. brb.  >:(

It is NOT infected.

Hello,

I am very sorry for you as I have experienced this also once, You want to send the file to avast in a password protected archive  5pass: virus) and as a title put false possitive.

Hope this Helps

What version of MailWasher are you using, I have been using MailWasher Pro 5.2 for some time (the 5.3 update only removed Blue Frog) and I haven't had a detection on mailwasher.exe and have just scanned it using VPS 0661-0 and no detection.

I suggest you check it out at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner
Or Jotti - Multi engine on-line virus scanner if any other scanners here detect them it is less likely to be a false positive. You can't do this with the file in the chest, you will need to move it out.
