Sheild Broken

When a virus was detected and the delete button clicked.
The message sheild broken appeared what does this mean and what do I have to do

When scanning emails a virus was detected and the screen for delete etc appeared.  The delete button was clicked and then the message sheild broken appeared.

Sounds like an an error message.  Better wait until the Avast people respond or someone familar with what you describe.

Do you mean an error message? If so, what did it say, exactly?

Are you using the latest version of avast?
What is your operating system and mail client?

the version of avast 4 home edition and updates as posted.
The operating system is XP

Avast is still checking mail and blocking virus's

What is your mail client? Outlook Express? Outlook? The Bat? Mozilla?
