Yes, only 4 providers are active (and I don't know which). But when it "hangs" no provider is running and the "red circle" is visible.

I'm confused. So is it four or zero? (When there's four, there's no red circle on the tray icon, right?)
Also, the number (4) is deduced from what the tooltip on the tray icon says?

Yes, the number (4) is deduced from what the tooltip on the tray icon says!

The happenings again:
1. No provider is active and the red circle is visible. At that time the system "hangs" for 10-15 seconds.
2. After that the tooltip says "4 providers active" and my monitor seems to turn off for a second.
3. Now 6 providers are active and everything's working fine.

This time a bit later but I'm on BETA too now. I can say, what the full system scan (standart sensivity with archivces on) is improved even with my old Duron. This time it was ~ 30 minutes instead of 40  ;)

Another instance of setup is already running
Try booting and start only once (single click) over the installer.
It seems that the previous instance hanged.

No problems so far apart from that very tiny glitch i've noticed in About dialog.
So are Armadillo and Obsidium unpackers coming with some next beta update or next actual update? I'm assuming the second though i like to be surprised ;)

Major problem with the Beta here. Running a 'Thorough' scan - picks up a Keylogger app that is used for monitoring kids on PC's here, as the 'current' / release version of Avast does. With the Beta though the 'Virus Found' dialogue hangs. It's not possible to choose any action at all - moving the mouse over the window gives me the hourglass, and I had no choice but to use Task Manager to kill Avast. Back to the release version which seems to work fine. Any ideas / thoughts...???

Jem, which OS are you using... And was the virus dialog displayed while doing an on-demand scan, or by the on-access scanner?

Hmmm...I confused myself. I choose to scan from the simple user interface if that's what you mean by 'On Demand'...

More....if I choose to scan the directory that holds the Keylogger installation executable from the SUI, it works fine in that I get the Virus Found dialogue, and I can choose an action. The problem appears to be only if it's been sitting there scanning the entire machine, which it was, and then it finds the file and I get the hang...

If it's relevant, the app is on the D drive (2 NTFS volumes here)...
