Hello,

I've tried stopping all On Acess Protection but I still get the error saying that I can't change the password.

Thanks

A new update will be released tonight, (hopefully) fixing these three things:

1. on-access password (unable to set)
2. updates on Win9x
3. Vista x64 issues (this is the hardest - the first two items have already been fixed, we're now waiting for this one).

No need to post if you have any of these 3 problems anymore.

Thanks
Vlk

i autodownloaded and installed the newest version, and now ie7, nero, and several other programs take at least 90 sec to boot! this occurred upon the reboot right after installing, seems to be an issue only when starting the programs, they seem to run fine once started.
Just to report no-issues with XP SP2 + IE7 + avast 4.7.936  8)

Vlk, I've seen some issues on Vista... but as you did not tell us, I can't know if they're the same and I should not post anymore...

That's the reason I'm on avast. ALWIL support is the best - no other AV companies can beat this.  ;)

Could it be possible that you release the update tonight ??
Because I don't want some of the users disabling the protection(thats why I normally have Password protection.

Thanks

high i am running vista rtm 64 and installed avast update this morning,
since then i was locked out of the net and some of my system.

after a lot of playing around i have found that i have to customize the standard shield and untick scan executed progs and scan dynamic libraries  to be able to get access back for net and system .

Hello,

I have just downloaded 4.7.936 and am sad to say that the password issue was not resolved on my computer  :(
Is there anything I can do to help you troubleshoot and correct the problem ?

thanks

Not really, I'm afraid.
Sorry, the Vista problem takes longer than expected.
The fixed update will be a new build - and will be marked as such (something like 4.7.939 probably). So, until the build number changes, it's probably useless to download the installer again.

Hi - (Please excuse my lame question - I am v. new to avast-) where can I check to see if the above new build is available *before* I download/install it.  On the main/download pages for the programme I see only the main version number/language displayed but no build numbers? (I looked under "Beta Downloads" but there one only sees that "There is no beta programme at the moment!" Where do the latest builds get put and how can I see which build it is?

Please don`t say I have to update from a previous install - the version I downloaded/installed yesterday had so <almost-> completely wiped out my 64bit Vista RC1 that I deleted it completely to regain access to the function of the OS.

If you wait for the upgrade scheduled for today, you just need to download the new setup.exe file and install it from the scratch.
No need to update from a previous install.
