I dragged another program into my Avast icon.  Now the system will not open.  Says i crashed the system/ How do i open program up and correct the problem?

Did you drag&drop a file into the 'a' blue icon? It should do nothing...  ::)

Snap I've never seen this before, certainly not in the avast help file. One there should be no need to do that with the right click scan option

What was it you dragged on to the avast icon, a desktop icon, file, program folder, what ?

Have you tried booting into safe mode ?
