By the way, MOZY is a great free online backup program. and it has nothing to do with this problem.
Tech isn't the only one using it.... ;D ;D

It may be a great program but when I get something that I perceive as spam advertising I immediately have a negative impression of it...no matter what it is.

Out of curiosity I did look at the site to see what it was after seeing the icon in Tech's signature.  The free 2gb of storage is (IMO) useless, I can put that on my thumbdrive and feel a lot better about the security of it than transferring my data over the internet to a server that someone else owns and has access to.

I don't carry my usb drives with me when ever i travel but,
2gb is more than enough secure space that I can access from any computer
to get me access to all my favorites and other items that mean a lot to me but
wouldn't mean anything to any one who might be looking. (Which by the way isn't the case.)

I agree with you. I can drag and drop 4GB of files to a single DVD-RAM and nobody gets a chance of looking at my backups.

But this clearly has nothing to do with Mozi the program.  Its something with their icon and the way the forum sofware (or our browsers) interacts with it.

@Tech - Just as test would you remove the icon from your signature for a while to see if the problem clears up?  You can put it back later - I'm just curious.   :)

I can do that but I see no reason of a picture stored here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1509.0;id=10682;image
will have anything related to that... Mozy has nothing to do with that, I have nothing to do with that... Please, clear the cached files of Internet browsing in your computer.

Spam? I do recommend that program... It's not a spam, it's out of question. It's a very good and free service. I receive any spam related to Mozy, any, any, any...

The image resides on the forums.avast.com web space, perhaps you could place the image on say photobucket.com, etc. and see if that makes any difference.

I don't have an explanation but I didn't have any problem logging in this time.   Its confusing for sure.

Please, clear the cached files of Internet browsing in your computer.
I do.  I run CleanUp at the end of every session.  Temporary Internet Files, cookies, everything goes.

Well its just an oddity - not a big deal at all   :)

... Please, clear the cached files of Internet browsing in your computer.

That screen I posted at the start of this thread was from the first time I had logged into the forum since completely rebuilding my PC in December, so browser cache would not have been an issue.

It may be a great program but when I get something that I perceive as spam advertising I immediately have a negative impression of it...no matter what it is.

I didn't say the program was spam; what I said was, "spam advertising" and what I meant by "spam advertising" might have been better described as "unwelcome advertising".  When I logged in and got a screen with just MOZY on it instead of being logged into the forum I was trying to access it comes across as advertising for a program.  And because I got what I perceived to be an advertisement forced upon me instead of the forum I expected, it was unwelcome.

Hopefully that clarifies my post.  :)

Hipgnosis, I understand your point of view... but I can't even be sorry as I did nothing to make that problem in your browser.
Maybe a thing for the avast webmaster to say to us... Anyway, I really doubt we'll hear anything *official* here...

I never implied that you had anything to do with it.   But enough about this anyway.  The problem appears to have gone away so there is no reason to discuss any further.  :)
