Avast Ultimate should have all modules included.
« on: April 13, 2021, 05:29:04 PM »
If you are going to call your product the "Ultimate" edition, then include mostly everything besides maybe a massive feature. Listen its easy to see ya'll want to make money. Cool. We live in a capitalistic society. But 24$ for battery saver? Really? Its worth is over a third of the entire suite? Just include it in Ultimate. Breachguard for 25$? Great.

So you buy ultimate and I still have to see a "Oh...you paid for the best package? Yea this feature is locked....sorry. looks like you don't have battery saver.....but just pay us on top of the 70$ a year you just did for this minute little feature that we are trying to squeeze the maximum profit out of pretty loyal consumers. Eh shitty business imo. When does it end? Never. By 2030, there'll be 30 modules. 18 included in Ultimate, and for the low price of  250$ (25$ x 12) extra, you can all functionality! Wow. What a deal!

Charge what you want for individual modules. But don't call something Ultimate, which we, as the majority, accept as all encompassing when it comes to features in a product. Its the ultimate package. The top tier. The higher grade.

Its clearly visible psychological marketing. Rant end. Nothing with change.

I'm sure Ultimate refers to Protection.
I wouldn't consider battery saving part of that.
I'm just guessing since I'm a user just like you and I'm happy
with the free version.

Agreed Bob
I don't believe one can equate "Ultimate" protection with "all inclusive" available components/modules :)

I agree up to a point as I believe there are components in Ultimate I wouldn't consider security protection.  CleanUp comes to mind.

Personally I too, find Avast Free meets my needs.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Taken from Avast's own mouth:

Basic - "Basic protection for all your devices."
Premium - "Complete protection against all internet threats."
Ultimate - "Our best security, privacy, and performance apps in one package."

The key words here being security, privacy AND performance within the Ultimate package. I disagree that Ultimate is purely "Security based" and Avast themselves agree with me, at least they say they do.

They include cleanup, which is performance. Battery saver would be performance as well. Are they saying its not one of their best apps? They seem to think its worth 30$ a year which is almost half of what Ultimate cost me. And then theres driver updater, which is a mix of performance and security.

Up the price of Ultimate to 99.99 and call it even. Include it all. Its a cash grab not to.
