review of this firewall 8)
scroll down to the truth...
To the lazy ones that don't want to even click on the link posted by drhayden  ;D

It is not even rated here: http://www.matousec.com/projects/windows-personal-firewall-analysis/leak-tests-results.php#firewalls-ratings

The Bad
Well, the protection provided is not that foolproof and there still are some leaks even if enabled. But one of the main disadvantages is that you cannot force the applications to use, only the regular ports and in case another door is opened, you will not even know it (and your computer may catch a cold from the drought).

The Truth
From what I saw, the application is designed for newbies that want to say to their friends they are behind a firewall, but experienced users will soon realize that this is not a too reliable firewall. However, beginners can start their incursion into the world of firewall protection and learn new information.

Actually, it is  ;D
This first release of PC Tools firewall is using the Look 'n' Stop engine. But any updates coming in the future will be done only by PC Tools  ;)

Thanks Tech, I'll try the tool in the evening when I get back home. There are of course no Comodo folders present on my system though.

Keep me posted and help me to give a better help... I'm not sure that will work.
When using MS tool, remove JUST the Comodo entry of the Add/Remove programs list.

There isn't one, that's the problem. Comodo seems to be completely uninstalled from my system. Some leftovers from previous installation must be doing the damage (I know Comodo used a crappy installer in the past, that is changed in the newer versions),

Delete the following Registry keys (if you want, make a backup first, for safety, better safe than sorry).

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Software\Comodo
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComodoGroup
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ComodoGroup

Try again...

Ooops!

But updates isn't a place to discuss a firewall.

avast! users can share experiences with PC Tools firewall here.
Have you tried it?
I have and my impression isn't very favorable unless you think not having internet access after
you install this fine program is considered the safe way to go.....  ;D ;D

Bob,
I had the same experience as you, I had no internet access after installing PC Tools Firewall Plus.  Uninstalled & still no internet.  I had Ashampoo fw turned off & disabled from start ups before installing PC Tools Firewall Plus.  I turned Ashampoo fw back on & instant internet access.  Apparently Ashampoo fw has a component that blocks internet access till Ashampoo fw is up & running.  I reinstalled PC Tools Firewall Plus & uninstalled Ashampoo and now everything is ok!!!  PC Tools Firewall Plus only uses 4mb of RAM & passes Shields Up with default settings!  This is the fw I need for my computer with limited resources.

More one example that 'disable is not enough' when we're talking about antivirus and firewall installations.
Low level drivers, system files and drivers, services, etc. Sooner or later, conflicts.
