Unfortunately every time one of these "Votes" comes up somewhere,
The results always seem to be tainted depending on which forum can push their users the hardest.

Statistics of actual usage would be a much better judge of popularity.

I just don't know where or if that's available. That's just my 2cents.  :)

The poll now says AV that you use, it now it would appear it is based on actual usage.

I'll never understand why people like AVG so much... I'd understand AntiVir (because of detection) over avast!, but AVG, it has nothing of both, only thing good about it is that it runs fairly light. Though honestly, AntiVir and avast! run just as fast and light on any PC...

Probably because they never tried avast, or they tried it but didn't know how to use it (i have met few people like this)  ???

On the other hand most of the sites that are offering HJT expert help, they put AVG at first place when offering help to people that don't have antivirus installed  :-\

What is very sad is that people are not trying first to learn something about the antivirses and what they get, they think that if its running  lighter on resources  then its the best choice  for them  ???

What is even more sad, is that most of the new coming experts are too lazy to try the products by them self and choose better choice then AVG, so they will just say what someone else before them said and wrote : if you don't have installed antivirus, then install AVG antivirus which is free and light on resources, blah bla bla, bla bla ... And so on :P

i totally aggree with u..i was a AVG Free user and i used to say that its one of the best AV out there..but i always had the curiosity to try different AV..so i tried avast and now i'm one of its users and fans..AVAST is much more better than AVG and as u said..its sad that many people are too lazy to see that..
