Mina, do you think that Kerio is better and gives us better security than ZoneAlarm ? I use ZoneAlarm 4.5.538.000 free edition...

BTW, which one takes up less system resourses ?

Cheers !

IMHO ZA uses too much resources  :-\
regarding resources/memory usage:
KPF 2.1.5 < KPF 4.0.11 < ZA

Mina, the KPF 4.0.11 is stable? Isn't it a blootware (with all-in-one...)?  :(

you're 100% correct, I returned back to 2.1.5. It conflicted with my sound card driver.

It's now KPF 4.0.13.

I decided to give Kerio's updated version 4.0.13 a second chance (tried an earlier version which was full of bugs :o ).  It works for me and quite nicely too.   :D

I am using it as freeware (no web blocking, etc.) but I get that from Firefox .8 so that does not matter to me.

What I like is the added system security like you get with System Safety Monitor (which was very flaky on my system  :o ) or Abtrusion Protector (not free for those with broad band access :'(  ).

Been using it for three days with no problems and system resources are similar to ZoneAlarm (about 18,000 k).   ;D

McAfee has the most powerful and simple firewall. Version 5 is even better and has no problems with anything. Nice work :)

Wohoho Sygate Pro rox too ;D I had some problems with trial, but this one seems to work great. Driver level protection is cool!
You'd never belive what other firewalls are NOT blocking...
S.Z.Craftec,i recommend you to test it! Guess free one has this function too.

And it uses only 10Mb of RAM!

Hey little DigitalSheep from Slovenia, hehe  ;D

I took your advice regarding Sygate Firewall Free Edition. I'm testing it for last 2 days, and it really seems to work great, takes up less system resources than ZoneAlarm, and works without those avast!-update-problems, someone mentioned earlier in some other thread... Sygate asked me only twice for permission regarding avast! updates, and it asked me never again...

So far, so good... I'm starting to love it !  ;D
