I'm on that version.

The system restarted without a problem.
My original complaint about always being told that the version needs updating
still has not been fixed even with this latest update.

bob3160: Yes, I am aware of it but its different issue and it is investigated by AV UI team. Unfortunately we still don't know why is this happening on your machine and we are not able to induce it :(

Guys, is there someone else who induced issue that there is information in UI that AV needs update even if product is already up-to-date?

It installed without any problems. I really like how it now installs fully and shows progress within single popup from start to end. Before, even when popup above taskbar was gone, it was still installing stuff with another progress bar within the interface and it really wasn't done well. This is much better. When popup above taskbar disappears, it's fully installed. I like that.

I do have a complaint though. Under "Custom" install, those "Minimal" and "Recommended" buttons on the right edge of installer feel totally out of place there. Place them between the introduction text and all the checkboxes. Anywhere but where they are would be better quite frankly. Would prefer if it was a button with text only. Having to hover over icons to see what they even are is an unnecessary step.

Hello, we redesigned "Minimal" / "Recommended" buttons on "Customize installation" screen. Thank you again

Hello, I will inform guys from Secure Browser team about your issue. On the other hand your issue is not related to new installer we are testing here so I would recommend you to report Avast Secure Browser issues to this forum section https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=78.0 because guys from browser team are not probably monitoring this topic. Thank you

Hi bob, good news. We were finally able to induce issue with "Important update available" info in UI of up-to-date product on our machines. Can you please check this registry value?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AVAST Software\Avast\properties\settings\Common\ProgramUpdateAvailable=1

This value should be related to this issue. Please let me know if value is present in your registry. You can also manually change it to 0 (with disabled Self-Defense) as temporary workaround. It should help. We will try to fix it as soon as possible of course

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition! It was indeed 1. I've made the registry change suggested and here's the result after a re-start.

I'm happy that Avast had the perseverance to keep digging till this mystery was solved. Thanks.
I've made the change manually on my main system. I'll wait for you to push through the fix so it will
fix the other 3 computers.

Ok, although personally, I'd do it like so. Either way, I'd center the checkboxes below to the text above it and not align them with the Recommended/Minimal buttons.

Problem is that our build system is not currently providing diffs (small update files) for every downloaded file and for every user so its the reason why update can be so big (at least for some users). It should be improved in future (definitely before we publish build to production).
IMO, this needs to get fixed/improved asap, users are not interested in enormous VPS updates..!! ;)
Hi, any news on that..!? The issue still isn't fixed..!! ::) :(
