The issue with the "Protection components disabled" alert
« on: December 02, 2020, 02:41:55 PM »
Hi all,
I want to apologize for the inconvenience.
Our teams are working on a fix and we want to release it as soon as possible. The fix will be released as a micro update for all devices with version 20.9 and a restart will be needed. Protection on all endpoints is active and devices are protected.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience.
Thank you!

Hi,
We're all still in the red. Any news about the upcoming fix?
Cheers,

I've got about 45 systems all showing red like this... how soon can we expect this fix?

I got minor program update on one server (from 20.9.5758.615 to 20.9.5758.617), this server no longer reports disabled component. So fix is probably on-line.

HI we use the cloud based version and we are still receiving this message on machines via the business hub. When I look at the program version and the virus definitions they seem to be the latest version. If i dismiss them they just come back the next day. pcs are being restarted.

Hi David,

Thank you for contacting our Avast Business Forum. We are sorry about the delay in response and the inconvenience.

The fix is already released with version 20.10 and a restart is needed. Our colleague will get in touch with you over your ticket with further information.

Thank you for the understanding.
Marija

Greetings All,

I am getting this error again stating that 56 of my devices have the "Protection components disabled" alert, the systems are set to automatically update and they are restarted nightly. Does anyone have a similar issue and/or is this a known issue as previously?

Thanks!

Yes, we are getting the same issue on 10 machines currently.

Edit.......
The fix for me was to uninstal then reboot via the consol, then redeploy on all the troublesome machines.
