Security Update for Windows (KB923723)
« on: February 19, 2007, 04:04:21 AM »
Security Update for Windows (KB923723) keeps reinstalling over, over & over again by Microsoft automatic updates.  Nonstop!  Anyone know why this is happening.

Windows XP SP2

My other computer isn't having this problem.  It also has XP SP2.

I have two (old) updates that continue to fail and would continually try to update, in the end I finally blocked them as they weren't really that important.

http://www.google.com/search?q=Security+Update+for+Windows+keeps+reinstalling see if any of these hits are applicable. But in your case you may not need the update.

Also the (KB923723) is MS07-005: Vulnerability in Step-by-Step Interactive Training could ... and unless you have that installed you don't need it, I suggest you read the KB and ensure that you do have a requirement for it.

Thank you DavidR,

I've blocked it.

Double thank you,

As I forgot to thank you for the last time when you helped me with a false positive.

Your welcome.

I can't understand why it needed to come down in the first place, as it is specifically related to installed software, Step-by-Step Interactive Training, which isn't common.
