New installation on Vista
« on: February 19, 2007, 06:59:38 PM »
Hi,

I opened up a new laptop and the first thing I did was install avast. When I did I can no longer surf the net. When I stop on access protection I can surf.

I have performed installation on a bunch of machines running XP and I have never had a problem.

Any suggestions on tweaks I can make in the application to allow for web surfing?

HELP!

Thanks!

What is your firewall ?
Does it allow ashWebSv.exe internet access ?
- If it does delete the entries for it reconnect to the internet, this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

Many new systems come with an antivirus program already installed.

Did you check for one on your new laptop and remove it before installing avast?
