Avast on Mac
« on: February 25, 2007, 08:34:25 PM »
I have been using Avast since 2005 on all my home PCs and Laptop
and I absolutely LOVE it. Nice, save, fast and compact.
Not like the resource hogs from Norton or McAfee.

I am ready to buy Macintosh MacBook Pro next week and would like to
use Avast on my new Mac laptop.

Is there Avast Home edition for Mac? I could not find anything
on Avast web page.
If so, can you please direct me to URL were I can download it?

Thank you very much in advance.

The reason why I asked about URL for download was - that this thread came up almost 1 year ago and the answer was the same :-\

"A version of avast for Mac is coming soon."....

That's why I thought it would be out for now.

Vlku, can you tell us at least approximate ETA so we know what 'soon' means this time ?  ;)

If it is days/weeks - for many it will be worth waiting it if is months or quarters - perhaps we should look for other solution - at least for the time being.

Thanks in advance.

meinrosebud-i don't care for vista much either-i have the vista ultimate piece of crap on my quad processor desktop and i am having some issues with it and i have a mac for work only and i am seriously thinking of throwing the quad out the window(NOT REALLY)because of the vista crap and getting a mac for personal use ::)

I understand how you feel, I beta tested most of the public beta versions of Vista and once the RC1 was released it sealed its own fate. I bought my Mac Mini 1.83 Core Duo to use as my home computer and I only run Windows XP when I am writing databases for work in Access. Wow, I can't believe that they are continuing to fool the masses with their sub-standard software, they have spent millions of dollars of that dog and it is still crap. >:(
