Avast! Management Server won't start
« on: March 19, 2007, 07:30:56 PM »
This is a new install and I am a first time user seeking an alternative to Symantec Corp Edition.  I have purchased the product and installed AMS on my Microsoft Small Business Server (2003) My problems started when, after the AMS install, I couldn't log into the Console.  It gave me a message "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it".  I went to Services and noticed that although the AMS service was set to Automatic, it wasn't started.  After starting it, I left services and continued to have the same problem.  I went back to services and noticed that it wasn't started.  I went to event viewer and noticed an event with the following detail:

Error
Event Source:   Service Control Manager
Event Category:   None
Event ID:   7023
Date:      3/19/2007
Time:      1:59:47 PM
User:      N/A
Computer:   MAIL
Description:
The avast! Management Server service terminated with the following error:
%%2147426329

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Any ideas?  All maintenance tasks on the database seem to indicated that it is OK and the connection is OK.

Thanks for your help,

Ivan

Did you enter a valid SSL certificate ? If not, use the AMS Maintenance tool from Start menu to enter it.
