Blocked program???
« on: May 08, 2021, 04:58:07 PM »
I use a book keeping program called Simply Books.  This program uses Microsoft Access as its base.  Every couple of weeks the program stops working and I have to remove all items relating to the program and I then reinstall.  This works fine for a little while until it stops working again.  I do not know if it is my Avast security or Microsoft blocking the program.  I do not know where to look or what I can do to say let the program run without stopping.

There really isn't much to work with:
Are you getting any Avast Alerts or messages and what Avast Program (and version) are you using  ?

Are you getting any errors from the program itself  ?

Have you looked in the Event Viewer for any related error messages for the program  ?
Click the Windows Key and type Event Viewer to access these logs.

Hi David

Thanks for taking the time to answer.
I am running Avast Premium Security.  I opened up Event Viewer, but I do not know what I am looking for.
Sorry, but I am a bit dim with computers.
When the program stops working I get a sign saying unable to open this program.  This message I think is Microsoft and not Avast.

Thanks

You're welcome.

It have been a really long time since I ventured into the Windows 10 Event Viewer, so I'm not very familiar with the win10 incarnation of it.

I too suspect this is a windows block/problem rather than specifically Avast.
Check out the Application section looking for Errors or Warnings, etc. see attached image.
