(An Avast) CAB archive is corrupted.
« on: March 03, 2007, 07:41:25 PM »
I've done a full system scan a couple of times in the last few days & each time, I end up with a message that states: Unable to scan: CAB archive is corrupted. The path is:

C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\moved\mrt.exe._p\mrt.exe._p

It seems to me that the Avast program itself has been infected. Is this right?

Should I download & re-install Avast or should I try to do a restore, or what? ....

Many thanks for your help & advice.

Wrong, the moved folder is used when you choose to 'Move' an infected file rather than 'move to chest' unlike the avast chest it isn't a protected encrypted folder so a scan would find the moved infected file.

You can either add it to the User Files section of the chest or delete it, add to user files would be my choice.
