This shows up in the event viewer.
Is this at all related to having an sata drive as main boot.

Did you run scandisk (chkdsk) in this computer?
Was there any other antivirus installed before avast?

There is/was no other antivirus program installed on the computer.  Defragment was done on this system
after everthing was installed.  The notifications in the event viewer seem to follow update of avast successful.  Not  the first time I have seen this.  Just not sure whats causing it.

Chkdsk is not defragmentation, it is there to see the health of the HDD, if there are bad sectors, errors, etc.

yes scandisk/chkdsk was done on this system right after installing all programs including antivirus.
I always run a final check on the system after a fresh install.

Does the message in the event viewer have to do with the hard drive at all?
Would the antivirus maybe not have enough permissions to view the file.  Or maybe a reboot after an update of the database was all it needed?

The events havent shown up since I posted the question. I did clear the log to see if it would happen again.  nope nada, I do appreciate your input tho.  This isnt a critical error, its more for my own knowledge as to why it happens once in a while.
