Blue screens due to Avast products.
« on: May 17, 2021, 12:08:38 PM »
Hi. Windows 10 Home 20H2 on Dell G3 3500 (with Zone Alarm Free Firewall as firewall): random blue screens due to Awast Free Antivirus (got them after install of latest version).

Found similar posts in several forums. PC with blue screens is "suicide". But not really ready to give up an application, that I use for years and that I have 99% trust in. Is Avast aware of the problem? Is there a possibility (and is it a safe option) to downgrade to previous Avast version? What else can I do? Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

File ID of report generated is 6IE2C; filename is 20210519_0529_6IE2C_290496984.

Upload file automatically was checked, but I did not have an Internet connection at that moment. Have I to upload the file manually?

Thanks.

Connect to the net and rerun the support-tool.

Rerun the support tool with Internet connected; I think that the file has been uploaded. File ID=4P3DS; filename=20210520_1009_4P3DS_290496984.zip

What exactly happens now? Just to know, what I shall do. I didn't had blue screens these last days and I could reset the system to a recent image, in the case if... But, working on a system, that may crash at any moment, is not really reasonable. On the other hand, as I said, difficult to give up an antivirus, that I have trust in. Thanks, anyway.
