Difference in antivirus database between Avast Home/Pro versions
« on: November 08, 2007, 11:16:23 AM »
Hi to all,
i just want to ask a question, because i have read this info in another forum, and i want to be sure it is true.
So the question is: is it true that the Avast Home edition virus database is missing part of the virus signs (in particular: Trojan signatures), compared to the Pro Edition?

No, it's not true, the engines (virus database, unpacker support, ...) are identical.
Here is the comparison of features:

Thanks a lot for your informations.
So, you can assure me that the recognition capacity of Avast home is equal to that of Avast Pro, i correctly understand?

Thanks in advance for the response (and for the great antivirus).

Have a nice day.

Yes. The configuration of the on-access is more powerful on Pro. Not the detection rate.
