That is basically what you did. To understand what you said I have to have full knowledge of the workings of the OS.

Ok, you can complain, but, desperation is not a solution... Maybe you need full (paid) support of another antivirus company... who knows. I'm not upset, just trying to caught David's point of view, which is mine too...

Yeah, you know what? I'm the type of that normally pays for a good product. I would have payed for Avast if I could have gotten help...if PPL treated me with decency and humanity rather than being arrogant and self-important. That is clearly what they did by avading my pleas for assistance because they may have been a little miffed at me.

As I said, I normally pay for a good product. I won't be paying Avast. I will, however, be removing it from all of my PCs. And I'm also the type of person that doesw the right thing by not letting other PPL be victimized by horrible technical assistance. I will be letting PPL know how bad a time I had with Avast.

1. I don't believe you were being ignored, in your desperation as you put it. I happened to be sleeping, the UK time zone is a minimum of 5 hours ahead (I assume your in the USA) yet someone else in the USA was trying to help you.

2. I certainly didn't credit you with design or programming of XP, to understand that doesn't require any programming knowledge. The element that is failing is the windows ntdll.dll file that ashWebSv.exe happened to be using at the time of the crash.

If you didn't understand it all you had to say was that you didn't understand and I or someone else would have tried to explain it further.

3. I fail to understand your comment about people being victimised and I trust you give the reference to the terrible support you received so that others can judge for themselves.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do and it is your choice, good luck in your search.

Feel free to do so. We have never the intention of being rude.
But for sure, you won't find that much better support than avast. Forum support is very, but very, far than horrible. On contrary... you'll find a lot of testimonials.
