If I install Avast Anti-Track, should I also run a VPN?

Hi,

"VPN products are designed to hide your location by encrypting your connection. However, when you use VPN alone, trackers can still identify you based on your device, browser, and online behavior. Unlike antivirus and VPN products, Avast AntiTrack is designed to prevent third parties and advertisers from tracking your online activity."

I have already read all that, and none of it answers my specific question, which really requires only a simple yes or no, although a brief explanation rather than promotional material for Avast's VPN would be nice.

My interpretation of what I have read so far is that if I install Avast Anti-track I could stop using my paid third-party VPN. I am seeking confirmation or otherwise of my thoughts.

Mind you, after reading other threads in this forum I am considerably less inclined to purchase install Anti-Track once my free trial ends.

Hi,
I was hoping that the brief description of the difference between a VPN and Avast Anti-Track I provided would allow you to make an informed decision on your own. It is unfortunate that you saw my reply as merely promotional. To give you a yes or no answer, I need to know your objective in terms of online privacy. If you wish to prevent tracking completely, you want to use a VPN together with Avast Anti-Track, then the answer would be yes. The VPN will hide your location by changing your IP address, and the Anti-Track will prevent further identification techniques via HTTP cookies, Web beacons and Canvas fingerprinting. Please let me know if you need any further clarification.
