Check if file jollyroger.vpu was downloaded to avast4\setup folder.
You can download it here:
http://files.avast.com/iavs4x/jollyroger.vpu
And copy it to avast4\setup folder.

Or reinstall, it won't harm, and the latest release version has this problem fixed.

That's probably what went wrong. It was probably trying to update the program when it crashed on me and now it just won't let me do it. Oh well, I'll just reinstall if you say the problem has been resolved. I'll let you know in a few minutes if everything's A-Ok.
