Question on Distributed Network Manager
« on: April 19, 2007, 08:20:34 PM »
I need to know is it possible by avast! Distributed Network Manager to know which are the network PC's that are not installed or running Avast AV software?  Meaning, if I have 200 computers in my network, some times there can be few users who might have removed the Avast and installed their favorite other AV software, so I need to know if avast! Distributed Network Manager can scan my entire network connected computers and show me who is running Avast and who is not?

I don't have it in front of me, but there is a way to do exactly that. I believe it's the "computer discovery" function in the ADNM interface. Find that, run it, and so long as the PCs are domain PCs, managed by the active directory, that process will discover computer names and IP addresses, as well as what version of the client is deployed on them if at all.
