IIS log views
« on: April 24, 2007, 03:30:36 AM »
I am in the test phase of an ADNM deployment with a few servers and around 50 clients.  The AMS is on a 2k3 box with SQL express and all was well until one of our techs decided to remove IIS on that server, not knowing that the AMS uses it.

I have reinstalled IIS, but whatever Avast had in there for serving up my log files is gone.

Is there a way to built the site back in without having to reinstall ADNM?

TIA

J

ADNM per se doesn't use IIS.
What errors are you getting?

Hmm...Interestingly enough...it has started working again.

What I was seeing were basically 404 errors in internet explorer when trying to view any of the logs or the mirror status.

The web browser would open up with a link ie:
http://servernamehere.com:5033/$$log$$_rinst

How are those logs passed around?

This is handled by the AMS update mirror (the "Avast! iAVS4 Mirror Service" in services.msc). It contains its own embedded HTTP server (independent of IIS).
