I just sent an email to PCWorld as I noticed that there was an option to vote for AVG even though it doesn't sell antivirus alone (like Macfee). Here is the email I sent them :

"Hello,

I am writting to you today as I have a question about your recent Antivirus pool, I would also like to thank you for creating this pool as it will allow companies with good product to be known. The question I would like to ask you is why is AVG in the pool ? Now don't mistake me for an Anti-AVG, its just that from looking at your website it states that Macfee was not included in the pool because it doesn't sell the Antivirus alone any more. However when I looked on the grisoft's website it clearly states that Grisoft doesn't sell the Antivirus alone either; so in order for this pool to be fair Grisoft would have to be removed form the pool. The page where this information about the programs sold by Grisoft can be found below:

http://www.grisoft.com/doc/products-comparison-home-and-office/us/crp/0

Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can answer or help you in any way.

Alexandre"

Hi Alexandre

If I've misunderstood you please clarify but what do you mean "AVG doesn't sell antirus alone"?
On the page you linked to, if I click on 'AVG Anti-virus' I go to this page http://www4.grisoft.com/doc/2213/us/crp/0

Apparently the link I page I wanted to post can't be reached by this URL but if you click on the "compare products" link you will see that the AVG Antivirus does indeed come with a firewall.

Thanks Al968 for the clarification. However I fear you've been the victim of page-builder-slackness. (Maybe you can sue!)
Not all their products are displayed on this page http://www4.grisoft.com/doc/products-comparison-home-and-office/us/crp/0 and the one headed AVG Anti-Virus should in fact be be AVG Anti-Virus plus Firewall. The 'full product list' link to http://www4.grisoft.com/doc/products/us/crp/0 has the complete list.

cheers,
Vlad

Please adjust your signature (break it over several lines if you really want a code look) for some it might screw with the page layout as it doesn't wrap. There are easier (or shorter) ways to say Hi.

Hi Al968
To your last question I could say "only in America"  - but I wouldn't want to be seen to be reinforcing any perceived cultural stereotype.

I fully understand what you mean, just out of curiosity (since you seem to know a little bit more than I do) what do you think I could get for that error ?

I don't really know much about it so I've no idea what you might get. Just remember the old saying:
"To err is human,
to forgive.....means losing out on any possibility of financial compensation!
