Problem with avast....
« on: April 27, 2007, 06:42:30 PM »
The other day a new version of avast was available.  I d'loaded and installed it.  It's version 4.7.986.  After it installed it asked if I wanted to restart now or later.  I selected "later".

Now everytime I start my computer, I get a message that asks if I want to reboot now or later.  I always select "later" and that's the last time I see the message and the computer runs fine.

What can I do to stop this?

Just for a change say Yes, allow it to reboot and see if that clears it.

If nothing has changed.

Operating system restart needed by avast message - First check the contents of the C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\setup.log file, which should show you why it thinks the reboot is needed.

This could be solved, in some systems, by deleting the file C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\reboot.txt
