Hi,
despite I set Avast to don't search for any program or virus update,
I continuously see outgoing traffic to avast server (downloadXX.avast.com)
protocol ICMP xx = number in my the firewall.
Can someone explain me why ? and what's for ?

regards
Lotondo

ICMP packets can hardly be called traffic... Firewalls make ppl way too paranoid...

That's because is monitoring the status of your Internet connection.

To prevent the ICMP packets (i.e. "PINGs") from taking place go to avast! Settings, Updating (Connections) page and check the "My computer is permanently connected to the Internet" (if that's the case).

Thanks
